All skills are welcome and all training is provided on the job. For health and safety reasons, our RDA volunteers must be at least 14 years of age or older. Safety checking – which includes police and reference checking – is carried out before a volunteer can start at a group.
We can offer you lots of great training and support, the chance to make a positive difference in the lives of our Riders and the chance to make great friends and learn new skills.
Volunteer roles can include:
• Leading
• Side-walking
• Supporting riders before and after riding
• Assisting with horse care
• Providing ground maintenance
• Being on the Committee
• Helping with Administration
• Focusing on fundraising and marketing -
South Auckland Group RDA operates during school terms.
We run riding sessions on Monday afternoons between 12pm & 5pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8am & 1pm.

We have up to 8 ponies in a ride and require one pony leader and 2 side walkers for each pony. Full training will be given. These are a great bunch of ponies and lovely Volunteers to work with. Absolute job satisfaction guaranteed!
